This policy explains what personal information this website collects, how we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have. It applies only to this website and to messages you send us through it.
Information we collect
Information you send us. When you use the contact form, we receive your name, your email address, your message and your confirmation that you have read this policy. If you email us directly, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message.
Technical information. Like most websites, our hosting provider’s servers automatically record basic technical data when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested, the referring page and the date and time of the request. When you submit the contact form, our form provider also processes technical data such as your IP address and browser information to detect spam.
What we do not use. This website does not use analytics tools, advertising or tracking pixels, heatmaps, social media plugins, embedded third-party content or third-party fonts. The only cookie we set is a strictly necessary cookie that remembers your cookie choice. See our Cookie Policy.
How we use information
We use the information described above to read and respond to your inquiry, to provide product support, to keep the website secure and protect it against spam and abuse, and to comply with legal obligations. We do not use contact form submissions to send marketing emails and we do not add you to a mailing list.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising.
We disclose personal information only to service providers that help us run this website and our email, and only so they can provide those services to us. Our website and contact form are hosted by Netlify, Inc., in the United States. Netlify stores contact form submissions in our account and sends them to our inbox by email, and it checks submissions for spam using Akismet, a service of Automattic Inc. Messages are then kept in our email account with our email service provider. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of all or part of our business.
Amazon and other external links
Our “Shop on Amazon” buttons take you to Amazon.com. Amazon, not Margentia, handles your visit and any purchase there under Amazon’s own conditions and privacy notice. As a seller, we may receive limited order information from Amazon for orders of our products, for example to provide support or meet tax and legal obligations.
Other links on this website, including links to social media, also take you to websites we do not control. Their own privacy policies apply once you leave this website.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We do not track visitors over time and across third-party websites, and we do not allow third parties to do so through this website. For this reason we do not change how the website works when your browser sends a “Do Not Track” signal.
We treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell or share personal information, and our cookie tool also keeps any advertising cookies turned off when it detects GPC.
How long we keep information
We keep contact form messages and related email correspondence for as long as we need them to respond to you and handle any follow-up, and then delete them, unless we must keep them longer for legal reasons. We also delete the copies of submissions stored with our form provider once they are no longer needed. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period for security and operation.
How we protect information
The website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and contact form submissions are sent over that encrypted connection to our form provider, which checks them for spam before sending them to us by email. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us at any time to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it or to delete it by emailing info@wearemargentia.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
Depending on the state you live in, for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas or Oregon, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws. These may include the right to know or access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to receive a portable copy, and to opt out of the sale of personal information, targeted advertising and certain profiling.
